The NordicTrack T 7.5 S is the budget treadmill of the very popular T series. It features interactive training sessions shown on it’s 7 inch touch screen giving you a unique exercise experience. There are over 16,000 on demand workouts which feature personal trainers guiding you through different routines. Some easy and some hard depending on your preference.

This is new technology and you need to be a member of the NordicTrack iFit to benefit from it. This treadmill comes with a years worth of iFit family membership. This represents great value because some companies charge a large monthly fee for what you get here. A lot of fitness equipment companies are now trying this technology but with 16,000 workouts, NordicTrack are one of the leaders.

The treadmill still has some great features in it’s own right that compare well with high end models. The 125 kg maximum user weight capacity is an example of this. If you are a bit on the heavy side and weight loss is your aim then this T 7.5 S treadmill can cater to you. The incline is 12% so you may want to power walk to lose weight which is a great way to help reach your goals.

I’m sure you’ll appreciate the two Bluetooth digital speakers so you can hear your running music or the personal trainers encouraging you. The workout fan is always something I like to see and there is special cushioning technology in the deck. This is called FlexSelect and makes your exercise far easier on your joints. The folding mechanism is assisted so that’s easy too.

Features of the NordicTrack T 7.5 S Treadmill

+ High Maximum Speed – This is 22 km/h or 13.7 mph which is very good. I’m not sure many of us would need to go this fast unless we’re speed training. Even then I would struggle and I consider myself an experienced runner! Why I like this is because the motor is good and has the capability of working hard and that’s something I look for.

The motor is 3.0 CHP which means Continuous Horse Power and these are the best type of motors for treadmills. There is also 10 years of warranty on the motor so it’s expected to last for many years. Just to let you know 22 km/h for 100 metres is 16.4 seconds and this is incredibly fast. It’s a speed only an athlete could maintain for a longer period.

The motor is also designed to have reduced vibration. This means the belt won’t slip, it will stay centre and need to be replaced far less often. This also extends the life of the motor as does the self cooling which is another feature. One thing to look out for is a burning smell if you have a motor problem and self cooling minimises this risk. It’s very commercial in design.

+ Good Labour Warranty – This is 2 years. Warranty is something I wouldn’t normally mention as much of a feature but this is very good. I would expect 2 years on high end machines that cost a lot more than this. A budget treadmill with a good labour warranty makes this NordicTrack T 7.5 S definitely one to consider.

The frame is lifetime which is good and about right. The warranty might be something to disregard but it tells you a lot about the company and the build quality of their products. A good warranty is a risk because it could cost the company money and affects their bottom line. For this reason I appreciate it when I see one as good as this for fitness equipment.

+ Low Cost & Free Delivery – This is the cheapest of the T series of treadmills by NordicTrack. This is cheaper by quite a lot and the main difference between them is the size of the touchscreen. The size on this T 7.5 S is 7 inches which is just fine, you don’t need to see anything in fine detail and is more than acceptable.

When it comes to delivery, fitness equipment companies used to charge quite a bit and it gave the impression the product had a lower cost. You don’t have this here because the delivery is free, you’re not stung with an enormous additional fee when you checkout. You may want to pay for assembly if you’re not into DIY which I do recommend and is a service NordicTrack offer.

+ iFit Family Membership – One year is included with the NordicTrack T 7.5 S which has a value of £349. This means up to 4 people can input their user profiles and experience the benefits on multiple machines. You also have the availability of other workouts and not just running. Yoga, toning, calorie burning are a fraction of the fitness routines available.

What I like is the first year is free. When you consider that some apps cost £39+ per month for this you realise what a good deal you get. NordicTrack are quickly becoming one of the market leaders for this which makes sense as they’re already one of the most popular makers of fitness equipment. They seem to have embraced this new technology and I think that’s a good thing and bodes well for this treadmill.

+ Adjustable Cushioning – The technology is called FlexSelect. This makes walking or running good for many different kinds of people to get a good workout without negatively affecting their back, knees, joints and muscles. What’s more is you can change the amount of cushioning to make your exercise experience more like being outside.

All it takes is a turn of the orange dials in the deck that NordicTrack call dampeners. Personally I prefer the most cushioned selection but if you have a race or some run you whish to emulate then you can. Treadmills are so useful because their decks are so much kinder, so the elderly, overweight or those with mild injuries can still get a good workout.

+ Run In Google Maps – You can run literally anywhere in the world Google has been. The technology is built in to the display and has you exercising while enjoying the many views you can see in some of the most beautiful locations around the world. This is unique and I’ve only ever seen it on NordicTrack equipment.

You can still change the speed and incline as you go. The incline goes to 12% and is easy to change with the one touch control on the console. Incline training is very popular today as it’s a real calorie burner even just walking. It can make a brisk walk into a hard aerobic workout and targets the legs, hips and butt in different ways from walking on a flat surface.

+ Large Running Surface – This is especially important if you’re a beginner. You want a good area to be able to exercise on in confidence. After a while you’ll get used to the size but you don’t need to worry with this NordicTrack T 7.5 S. The deck is cushioned from front to the back so even incline exercising can be done.

I always consider the surface area because I like to do speed training. Doing this you sometimes need to hop off the treadmill while it’s going at high speed and back on. The bigger the area the better when I’m doing speed training. I think a large surface benefits everyone and as this still remains a budget machine, it compares well with treadmills far higher in cost.

Drawbacks of the NordicTrack T 7.5 S Treadmill

Heavy Treadmill – Assembled weight is 96 kg and that is the weight of one and a half people so it will take two to move it. Make sure you assemble it where you plan to keep it. I personally like big machines as you don’t want something small and flimsy if you plan to exercise on it regularly. It needs to be able to take a pounding.

No Heart Rate Chest Strap – It has EKG sensors that you place your hands on to read your pulse. But a chest strap is usually more accurate. Some treadmills come with them but this one doesn’t. It’s probably to keep the cost down because not everyone uses them. You can always buy one instead if you really want to.
