The TT8 is Sole’s flagship non folding treadmill. It’s heavy so make sure you have it in the right place because it’s difficult to move at 322 lbs. It can be compared to commercial treadmills because it’s made in that way. It even comes with a light commercial usage warranty and so it’s designed to be able to take lots of use.

The TT8 is the only Sole treadmill to offer a decline as well as an incline. It goes down to -6% in 6 levels. This is a relatively new feature and many manufacturers are copying this by offering declines on their machines. Decline running shouldn’t be done too much as it can cause a lot of stress as the foot pounds the treadmill in a hard way when running down hill.

The heart rate is measured through Salutron technology. This is the bioprobes used in activity trackers and heart rate wrist watches. They’re also used in the TT8 and they measure you’re heart rate in a very accurate way. With this treadmill being non folding it’s a little bigger than the other’s Sole have on offer and in this way also compares to other commercial treadmills.

The TT8 is indicated for commercial usage in places like fire and police stations, non due paying gyms and such like. For this use it also has a special warranty which is different from the in home one. The frame still gets lifetime but the motor and deck get 5 years, the electronics 3 years and labor one. The labor warranty for in home use is 2 years. Other features are in the review below.

Features of the Sole TT8 Treadmill

+ 3″ Crowned Rollers – These play an important part in how your treadmill works and how long it will last. You want the biggest rollers which are where the belt rolls around and travels back to the beginning of the machine. The bigger the roller the less revolutions it has to make and this helps decrease the wear and tear. 3″ is big and it’s a good thing.

+ 6% Decline – If you really want to replicate a race by training for it on a treadmill then you need a decline. The TT8 has a 6% decline which is quite large when compared to other treadmills. This can be incorporated in your 2 custom programs which makes your runs more varied and can be saved for future use.

+ 400 lbs Maximum User Weight – The Sole TT8 weighs in at 322 lbs and can take a user of up to 400 lbs. This really is a big machine capable of taking a big runner. While you may not be approaching that weight it’s still a positive thing because it shows how sturdy the machine is. The fact that it’s non folding probably helps it have such a high maximum.

+ Waxed Reversible Deck – What better way to extend the life of your treadmill than by having a reversible deck. Wear and tear is the main reason a deck will need replacing and that’s because they get the main use. They don’t last forever so the TT8 has a deck that can be reversed. No other Sole treadmill offers this.

+ Designed For Runners – With it’s powerful motor and generous running surface the TT8 can boast the features that make running on a treadmill in the home something to be enjoyed. Those who run outside will appreciate the realistic feel for running you get. The deck is cushioned as well so when you need less impact than outside you have it here and the decline/incline gives it even more realism.

+ Crystal Clear Display – The TT8 has more than the LCD of lesser Sole models it has a graphical 10.1″ screen for you to get your workout information from. This is back lit and shows your exercise details in a very clear and concise way. There is a track image that rotates as it follow your running distance. This gives you the feeling of progress and motivates you to go further.

+ 2 User Profiles – This Sole TT8 has the memory in it’s console to store 2 user profiles. This means your statistics are available to you at the touch of a button. You can then create a custom workout each that uses decline and incline. This is displayed on the screen graphically so you can tell how much if an incline or decline you have coming.

Drawbacks of the Sole TT8 Treadmill

Non Folding – Unfortunately for those who really like the TT8 and are short of space, it doesn’t fold up. With it’s specifications you would have to expect this really. Very sturdy and powerful treadmills don’t usually come folding so it’s good for those who have the room. If not, you might need to move things around or sacrifice some space for it.

No Heart Rate Chest Strap – The TT8 can still read your heart rate using advanced “Salutron” technology pulse grips but for the price I’d rather have a chest strap. This means you don’t have to hold onto anything to have your pulse read. This get’s in the way of your run as you can’t swing your arms as you would in a natural motion when using the grips.

Sole TT8 Treadmill Review Summary

The Sole TT8 treadmill as you can see in the review above is an impressive machine. If you’re wondering what treadmill to go for, there is a choice of whether you want a folding one or not. I would say that a folded treadmill has to come down to flat anyway. You would have to keep making room for the unfolding so there maybe be value in a non folding one.

The price is a lot being well above $2,000 and that may put you off. But good treadmills that last, do cost more. The TT8 is good because it’s not full of unnecessary features, everything it has is what you need to get a good workout. The price goes into the better standard of build and components and these are the things that really matter in a treadmill.
